Common Sense Design is a one-person design firm founded by British-born Nigel Gordijk in 2003. With a B.A. (Hons) in Graphic Design, he is an independent Web design consultant who produces Web sites that are logical, easy to use and visually engaging.

Nigel is one of the co-founders of Creative Latitude, a worldwide network that promotes ethical business practices within creative industries. He devised its name and created its Web site.
He has written about Web design for Ecademy, Webreference and CreativePublic. In 2005, Nigel featured in The Savvy Designer's Guide to Success by American design guru, Jeff Fisher. His work also appears in Fisher's 2007 book, Identity Crisis!: 50 redesigns that transformed stale identities into succesful brands.
Nigel has published an eBook about how to write professional project documentation, called Web Proposal Writing.
Nigel has been married to Toronto-born Cheryl since 1997 and he became a permanent resident in Canada in December 2006. He lives and works in New Hamburg with his stepdaughter, Kristen, and granddaughter, Madisyn. He serves on the executive of the New Hamburg Board of Trade.
