Brighton designer creates Web site for Honda

Brighton-based Web designer Nigel Gordijk today announced the launch of a new site he designed and produced for international vehicle manufacturer Honda. The site is for Honda's All Terrain Vehicles division and is aimed at the farming, construction and leisure industries. Gordijk provided design and programming services on the site.

Gordijk said: "People visit Honda Web sites looking for information about the vehicles they produce. The old version of the site made it difficult to do that because of its complex navigation. Now I've made it easier for users to get to the products' details.

"Honda is the world's market leader in the all terrain vehicles' market. Part of the challenge was to create a site that reflects the quality of Honda vehicles as well as their ease of use.

"I was extremely flattered that a company of Honda's size and stature chose me to improve their online image."

He said: "This reflects the current trend for big-name clients to use freelancers for their creative work, rather than a full-blown design consultancy. The contractor more often than not works from their home office so the client isn't paying for office space and support that they never need.

"Because I do a lot of my freelance work through Aquent, I can call on them to provide another freelancer to help out when necessary."

The Honda ATV Web site - which consists of more than 70 pages - took three weeks to design and produce at Gordijk's home-based office.
