New Hamburg Firebirds move to a new online home
New Hamburg Firebirds have just relaunched their Web site as they
prepare to bid farewell to their home at the Wilmot Township Arena.
The new site - www.firebirds.ca - has been redesigned to contain more information about the town's
Junior "C" hockey team, including news, schedule, standings
and photo gallery.
The new Web site - produced by Nigel Gordijk of New Hamburg's
Common Sense Design (www.commonsensedesign.net)
- launches as the 'Birds are preparing to say "goodbye"
to the Arena, prior to their move to the new MURF later this year.
On 7th April 2007 - Easter Saturday - there will be a reunion of
previous players, giving a chance for them to put on their skates
again in one of the junior hockey alumni games on the day. The all-day
event is open to the whole community, with planned activities for
the weekend to include memorabilia, awards ceremony, figure skating
performance and free public skating. There will also be food, 50/50
draws and taking down of championship banners, so they can be transferred
to MURF.
Full details of the reunion can be found on the Firebirds' Web
site, including a form so previous players can register for the
alumni games and buy souvenir merchandise.
