New Hamburg Board of Trade approves revamped logo by Common Sense Design as part of a new marketing drive
The New Hamburg Board of Trade has signed off a new logo created by Common Sense Design. The new branding replaces the previous, long-serving logo design (below).
There were actually two different versions of the old logo, neither of which made clear the name was of the organization it represents. The main logo showed an iconic local landmark - the Heritage Waterwheel - with the initials "NHBT", but not the Board's full name.
On the second version - which can be seen outside the Board's main offices - the words "Board of Trade" appear, but they are the smallest element of the logo. This second version also shows the waterwheel, plus two of the swans that reside on the local Nith River.
Common Sense Design's new branding makes it explicitly clear who it is for, whilst retaining two key elements of the previous versions of the Board of Trade's logo. A more simple illustration style has been used to make the new brand bolder and more eyecatching. It will be applied to new marketing materials, including apparel and two forthcoming Web sites, also to be produced by Common Sense Design. The first will be a rejuvenated marketing site that will tell people about the Board and its activities, and also enocurage businesses to join. The second site will be a business search engine exclusively for New Hamburg-based firms and services.
